Oodles of Resources

Here is a little page that's a bit for myself, and bit for people that want to know about how I create sites or use my computer. One thing I notice lacking here are resources to help with writing. I hope to add some in the future, but for the time being I hope you find these resources useful.

Apple Button

Not only the company my father worked for years ago, but the only kind of computer I'll use. Needless to say I like to visit the Apple site for both technical support and for personal enjoyment. Apple's website can be found at www.apple.com

Color Combos Button

I spend a lot of time working on web pages and creating graphics on my computer. I'd like to think that my taste in colors is perfect, but sometimes it's hard to figure out what colors work well together. That's why I like to visit Color Combos website to help get new ideas. Color Combos can be found at www.colorcombos.com

Browser Shots Button

As much as I enjoy the web and making web pages one of the most frustrating things is spending a lot of time on a site only to find out it looks funny on a Windows machine. That's why I love this screen shot site that lets you see what your page would look like in all kinds of browsers. Take your screen shots at www.browsershots.com

Stock Exchange

Since I build a lot of websites I find myself in constant need of images. It's almost impossible sometimes to take the photo myself, and frankly I'm not the best photographer. That's why I really love this stock photo exchange site. Nearly all the images are royalty free which is perfect because their restrictions on use are incredibly lenient. Get your images at www.sxc.hu

Wikipedia

The first place I seem to go when I have a question that needs answering. The one important thing to keep in mind with this site is that all the information is created by the visitors of the site. As a result it tends to stay up to date on some items and other items can occasionally get totally ignored. However, the biggest downside to the user created content is that it is often not entirely accurate and even biased at times. But if you ever want a quick answer to what may be a simple question I suggest checking with www.wikipedia.org first.

Think About It
The art of our era is not art, but technology. Today Rembrandt is painting automobiles; Shakespeare is writing research reports; Michelangelo is designing more efficient bank lobbies.
